Caluire et Cuire city
Caluire-et-Cuire is a French commune located in the Lyon metropolitan area in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Its inhabitants are called "Caluirards".
Caluire-et-Cuire is the sixth-largest city in the Lyon metropolitan area, located between the Saône and Rhône rivers, just north of Lyon. It was formed at the end of the 18th century from the merger of Caluire and Cuire (itself a spin-off of Cuire-la-Croix-Rousse).
In 20061, the municipality ranked 34th in France for the proportion of taxpayers subject to the wealth tax (ISF), with over 20,000 inhabitants.
