We're pleased to announce that, with the release of GoFAST version 4.2, OnlyOffice will be available in version 8.0! This new update to the Open Source office suite contains many new features and enhancements!
EASIER CREATION OF PDF FORMS
New options for users in the forms area: Create fillable PDF forms from a 'docxf' file.
Bidirectional text and RTL interface
When GoFAST 4.2 is released in OnlyOffice version 8.0, bidirectional text will be supported.
It will even be possible to have an RTL (Right to Left) interface.
-> To activate it, nothing could be simpler: go to "advanced settings" in the "file" tab , then scroll down to "workspace", and tick "RTL interface (Beta)".
New features in the spreadsheet
Goal Seek: If you have an idea of the result you want to achieve with a formula, but don't necessarily know the input value required to get there, use the Goal Seek feature available in the OnlyOffice spreadsheet editor.
->The feature is available in the "data" tab, under the name "Goal Seek".
Chart wizard: Provides a list of recommended graphic types and a preview of the graphics generated from the selected data.
-> You can find this feature in the "insert" tab, then in "recommended Chart".
Series: The "Series" function lets you quickly generate sequences of numbers. You can select a range of cells and extend the first value over the others, as well as fill cells with series of values.
->The feature is available in the "Home" tab , then in "Fill", and finally in "Series".
And other improvements:
- Possibility of obtaining a link to the selected range when the file is opened for display
- Expand/Collapse field" options in the pivot table context menu and toolbar
- Center on page" option (vertically/horizontally) for printing
Enhanced screen readers
Since version 7.5, it has been possible to use screen readers on OnlyOffice, and new improvements are coming with version 8.0. This should make work easier for blind and partially-sighted users!
-> To access and activate screen reader support, go to "Advanced settings" in the "File" tab, scroll down to "Workspace", and tick "Turn on screen reader support".
